Painted Lady Butterflies

We received a very special package in the mail several weeks ago. In bold letters it said, OPEN IMMEDIATELY. LIVE INSECTS.

It was a butterfly garden kit, complete with live caterpillars. We eagerly opened it up, read the directions and let nature take it's course. The three weeks of transition were amazing. We got to witness the stages of becoming a butterfly. WOW!

We had five successful butterfly births:
♥Hermione - born on April 8th
♥Annalise - born on April 8th
♥Hanna - born on April 9th
♥Jackie - born on April10th
♥Lady - born on April 11th

THESE ARE THE DAYS

These Are The Days is one of my favorite songs by the 10,000 Maniacs. The song reminds us that we are all truly blessed and lucky. Life gives us every day miracles. But most of us are too busy to notice these daily blessings. Slow down, breathe easily and let your senses soak in your surroundings.

I want to remember these days. I want to cherish every hour, minute and second with my children, family and friends. And, I want to teach them to see the beauty in their world and to cherish all that they have.

So, I've titled this blog These Are The Days. These are the days to remember. These are the days to cherish. These are the days to fill with laughter. These are the days to remember that I am lucky and blessed.

These are the days.
